Highlights of the many things keeping Jo busy—book signings, writing songs like "Shovel Buddy," radio and tv apperances, and speaking engagements. A special thanks to Jared, for taking the time to put this together!

Jo, Valerie, and Brook hit the road in October to attend the National Funeral Directors Convention in Las Vegas. A 12-hour drive from Denver, the trio arrived in Vegas at around sundown one day, spent the next day at the Hilton Convention Center, and drove home the next day with fond memories and exciting, new contacts.

Here's Jo having a Kodak moment with two Men of Mortuaries calendar guys — actual funeral directors who donated their hunkiness to raise money for breast cancer research.

Vegas wasn't all funeral directors convention stuff. Here, Jo and her galpal Valerie take a moment from window-shopping to vamp.

From conventions, what sudden friendships spring! Jo hands off a copy of her book to Glenn Lyle (from Largo, Florida) of B&L Systems.

When Jo and Galpal Val spotted this vintage funeral coach in the exhibit hall, they invited an urn salesman from England to join them in this picture.
Jo called him ‘Nigel.’ Val referred to him as ‘Clive.’ (His name is Rodney, actually, and he laughed when Jo greeted him with, "Nice fake accent. Where are you pretending to be from?")

(Jo can't drive by a graveyard without hopping out to snap pictures.)

While in Vegas, Jo caught up with her longtime buddy, Norm Clarke. A former columnist for The Rocky Mountain News, Norm now lives in Vegas and writes a juicy celebrity column for The Review-Journal. (This picture was taken just after Norm told Jo that Paris Hilton had been at the Vegas Hilton the night before? How magical! However, standing where Paris stood hours ago did not make Jo feel any differently.)

Vegas-Road-Trip Videographer, Brook, takes in the nightlife of Vegas during the 30 minutes off that Jo gave him from making the documentary. (Back to work, Brook!)
